Phra Yanvithayakomtera (Luangphor Koon) was born on 4th October 1923. He was the eldest son of the family. Unfortunately, his parents passed away when he was very young, so he was sent to live under the care of his aunt until he was old enough to enter the monkhood. He was ordained at Tanon HakYai Temple in 1944 and began studying the Dhamma with Luang Pu Daeng. After finishing his studies, he decided to go on a pilgrimage to Cambodia and Lao. From B.E. 2512 onwards, he became well known for the holy objects created in his name. He is respected by people around the country and was even considered the god of mercy. In 1995, he was graciously granted the title of Phra Yanvithayakomtera by His Majesty the King.
